Happy New Year Everyone!, 2013 started with a few good SCAMs, i would like to high light one, the Microsoft Representative call to gain access to your computer.

It’s a very common scam

If anyone allowed them to access their computer they are in serious danger of identity theft. They immediatley needs to change  password on all online banking accounts, credit card accounts, email, facebook and anything else with personal information as the scammers now have copied this. If  ANY credit card statements, bank statements, tax forms, etc on his hard drive or his email account, he immediately needs to file a fraud alert as the scammers have now copied all of this. I don’t know how it works but first contact your bank and credit card companies to put a fraud alert on your account (which will normally require you to be issued new account numbers) then you file a fraud alert with the 3 main credit bureaus – Equifax, Experian, TransUnion

You should also take your computer to a real repair shop unless you know computers and clear any viruses, malware, trojans, keyloggers, etc that they installed on his computer…
